President Trump attends the title game
On Monday evening, President Trump was greeted with enthusiasm at the college football championship featuring the Miami Hurricanes and the Indiana Hoosiers.
His journey began at Mar-a-Lago, where he traveled to Palm Beach Airport before boarding Marine One for a brief flight to Pembroke Pines. He then took another motorcade to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, arriving just in time for kickoff. The crowd erupted in cheers as cameras captured him in a luxury box.

The cheers were particularly loud during Jamal Roberts’ rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” nearly drowning out the performance as he sang about “the twilight’s last gleaming.”
Among those seen in his box were family members including daughter Ivanka, granddaughter Kai, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who hails from Miami.
Prior to attending the game, Mr. Trump released a statement commending both teams for their unexpected success in reaching the championship. He noted that while Indiana was historically a lower-ranked team in the Big Ten, they had secured their spot as a No. 1 seed. The Hurricanes also made headlines by being one of the last teams to qualify for an at-large berth this year.
“Melania and I congratulate the Indiana Hoosiers and the Miami Hurricanes on making it to the College Football Playoff National Championship. God bless the talented players and dedicated coaches, their supportive families, and loyal fans. May the best team win!” he stated.
This visit is part of Mr. Trump’s trend of attending significant sporting events; he has previously made history as the first president to attend a Super Bowl live and was also present at an NFL regular-season game since Jimmy Carter’s presidency.
The former president is known for his presence at major UFC events where he often interacts directly with fans and fighters by entering through crowds rather than using private access points.
Additonally, he presented Chelsea with their trophy during soccer’s inaugural Club World Cup final last summer at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey, remaining on stage even after players began celebrating among themselves.
