Authorities find missing 13-year-old

Montgomery County police confirmed that a 13-year-old girl from Kentucky, who had been missing since October, was discovered this weekend in Silver Spring.

The search for Wynter Wagoner concluded on Friday when authorities located her inside a home on Dalewood Drive, thanks to the efforts of local police and the U.S. Marshals.

During the operation, officers arrested 37-year-old Christian Alexander Delgado at the residence and charged him with kidnapping.

The family of Wynter expressed their relief in a statement, saying, “We are incredibly grateful that she has been found safe. These past weeks have been unimaginably painful for our family, and we are thankful beyond words to law enforcement in Kentucky and Maryland, the U.S. Marshals, and everyone who shared her story and kept her name alive.”

The Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office reported Wynter missing on October 14.

Police received a tip regarding Wynter’s possible location shortly before 6 p.m. on Friday. Officers and U.S. Marshals quickly responded to the tip-off and found her at the Dalewood Drive home.

After being located, Wynter was taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.

Christian Alexander Delgado remains in custody in Montgomery County as he awaits extradition back to Kentucky.
