Accusations Against Minnesota Officials

The White House has accused Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and other state officials of instigating protests against immigration enforcement in Minneapolis. This, they claim, is an effort to distract from ongoing federal investigations into alleged fraud involving these officials.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump stated that “Minnesota is a Criminal COVER UP of the massive Financial Fraud that has gone on!” His comments followed an incident where a federal immigration officer fatally shot a protester in Minneapolis.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt informed reporters that Mr. Trump was alluding to Governor Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for allegedly encouraging left-wing activists to harass individuals and threaten Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. She asserted that these actions were intended to shift focus away from the serious fraud issues at hand.

The Somali community in Minnesota has faced scrutiny after federal authorities charged numerous individuals who participated in a pandemic-era meal program but failed to deliver the promised meals. This fraudulent activity reportedly cost the government $300 million.

Authorities have also uncovered scams related to autism programs within the Somali community. Prosecutors allege that scammers arranged for false autism diagnoses for children, offering parents kickbacks to enroll their kids in government support programs without providing any actual services.

Leavitt emphasized that billions of dollars have been misappropriated from taxpayers in Minnesota, and the administration remains committed to uncovering the truth behind these fraudulent activities. She raised questions about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s financial status, suggesting potential connections between her and the alleged fraud rings operating in her district.

In response, Omar dismissed Trump’s claims as panic-driven deflections from his failures, stating, “Years of ‘investigations’ have found nothing. Get your goons out of Minnesota.”
