Trump to Receive Prestigious Award
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that President Trump will be awarded the Israel Prize, which is the highest honor given by the state of Israel.
The two leaders met on Monday at Trump’s estate in Florida, Mar-a-Lago.
Netanyahu remarked, “President Trump has broken so many conventions to the surprise of people, and then they figure out, ‘Oh, well, maybe he was right after all.’ So we decided to break a convention … or create a new one. This year, we are awarding the Israel Prize to President Trump for the first time ever to a non-Israeli.”
The Prime Minister emphasized that this award recognizes Trump’s “tremendous contributions to Israel and the Jewish people.” He added that this reflects the widespread appreciation among Israelis for Trump’s support in combating terrorism and preserving civilization.
Israel’s education minister, Yoav Kisch, who oversees the prize, informed Trump of his selection during their meeting. Kisch shared on social media: “For the first time in the history of the State of Israel: The Israel Prize will be awarded to President Trump!”
Kisch described it as “the most prestigious award by the State of Israel — for 2026, in the category of ‘Exceptional Contribution to the Jewish People.’” He stated that this historic decision acknowledges Trump’s significant influence on Jewish communities both in Israel and globally.
This recognition follows shortly after Trump received FIFA’s inaugural Peace Prize during the 2026 World Cup draw. FIFA President Gianni Infantino remarked, “This is your prize; this is your peace prize,” highlighting Trump’s exceptional efforts toward promoting global peace and unity.
The establishment of FIFA’s Peace Prize was announced recently, coinciding with this year’s Nobel Peace Prize announcement. Trump had expressed belief that he deserved a Nobel accolade instead of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado receiving it.
