President Trump addresses ballroom budget concerns

President Trump has responded to inquiries regarding the escalating expenses associated with the new White House ballroom.

The initial estimate for the ballroom was set at $200 million, but it has since increased to $300 million.

During a recent exchange with CNN’s chief White House correspondent, Kaitlan Collins, Trump expressed frustration over the scrutiny of the ballroom’s cost.

“Caitlin Collins of Fake News CNN, always stupid and nasty, asked me why the new ballroom was costing more than originally thought one year ago,” he stated on social media. “I explained that it is going to be double the size, and the quality of finishes and interiors has been elevated to the highest level.”

He further noted that enhancements have been made to improve viewing angles. “It is actually under budget and ahead of schedule, as my projects always are,” he added.

Trump emphasized that the changes in pricing stem from plans for a “much bigger and more beautiful” ballroom than initially envisioned. He also mentioned that no taxpayer money is being used for this project; it is entirely funded by private donations.

The yet-to-be-named ballroom will span an impressive 90,000 square feet—significantly larger than the White House itself, which measures around 55,000 square feet excluding the West Wing. Initially projected to accommodate 650 guests, Trump claims it will now seat closer to 1,000.

The East Wing was demolished in October to make way for this project, with construction sounds audible from within the White House. While some critics argue that such a large space is unnecessary for the presidential residence, Trump’s administration insists on its importance. They contend that since private funds are being utilized, concerns about cost are unwarranted.

The White House issued a statement: “In this latest instance of manufactured outrage, unhinged leftists and their Fake News allies are clutching their pearls over President Donald J. Trump’s visionary addition of a grand, privately funded ballroom—a bold necessity echoing historical improvements made by past commanders in chief.”

A recent change in leadership occurred when Shalom Baranes was appointed as lead architect after reports indicated disagreements between original architect James McCrery II and Trump regarding the size of the ballroom. McCrery will remain involved as a consultant.
