Trump endorses Trever Nehls
Former President Donald Trump has officially endorsed Trever Nehls, the identical twin of retiring Representative Troy Nehls, for the Texas House seat that his brother has held.
Trump referred to Trever as a “MAGA Warrior [who] WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN” and commended his brother as a “GREAT Congressman.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted Trever’s experience as a former Fort Bend County Constable and retired U.S. Army Colonel. He emphasized Trever’s commitment to law enforcement, military personnel, and veterans, stating that he understands the wisdom and courage required to maintain law and order.
“In Congress, Trever will work hard to keep our now very secure border secure, stop migrant crime, grow our economy, cut taxes and regulations, promote products made in the U.S.A., advance American dominance, champion election integrity, and defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump added.
Trever Nehls expressed gratitude for Trump’s endorsement, stating he is determined to represent Texas’s 22nd district in Congress. He pledged to work alongside Trump to enhance national security, reduce costs for families, and usher in a new era of prosperity for America.
Troy Nehls announced his retirement last month to focus on family after serving since 2021. He informed Trump personally about his decision.
“President Trump has always been a strong ally for our district and a true friend,” Troy said. “Serving this country in the military, serving our community in law enforcement, and serving this district in Congress has been the honor of my life.”
Following Troy’s announcement of retirement, Trever quickly declared his candidacy for the vacant seat. He stated that District 22 needs a representative who will uphold conservative values alongside Trump while opposing what he described as the reckless agenda pushed by Democrats.
