Homan’s Accusations Against Democrats
White House border czar Tom Homan stated on Sunday that Democrats and liberal activists are displaying hypocrisy regarding their outrage over immigration enforcement. He argued that they have spent years neglecting to assist in the deportation of illegal migrants, overlooking the crisis at the southern border, and disparaging ICE officers.
Homan emphasized that elected officials have permitted individuals who pose threats to public safety—such as those charged with child sex crimes and rape—to be released from custody.
“That’s why we are there,” he remarked during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.” “Let’s not forget who set the stage for this. All these people on the Democratic side, along with liberal activists, want to criticize our law enforcement actions, yet they remained silent when there was an open border and when half a million children were smuggled into this country.”
“They were complicit,” he added.
Homan noted that this situation is part of why the Trump administration has focused some enforcement efforts in Minnesota. He expressed concerns about collaborating with local authorities regarding the investigation into the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent.
“That state is a sanctuary state; it is a sanctuary city,” he said. “They don’t work with us.”
“This is one reason we find ourselves in our current predicament in that city because the law enforcement response has been sporadic at best,” he explained.
Regarding Ms. Good’s case, Homan stated that impeding an ICE officer constitutes a crime and expressed his belief that the agent felt his life was threatened. However, he mentioned that he would allow the investigation to proceed before drawing any conclusions and expressed trust in the FBI to conduct a fair inquiry despite skepticism from Democrats.
