Insights from Jennie Bradley Lichter

Hi, I’m Sean Salai, a culture reporter.

We are currently at the 53rd National March for Life, engaging with pro-life leaders about their perspectives.

Jennie Bradley Lichter: Good morning, Sean. I’m Jennie Bradley Lichter, president of the March for Life.

Sean Salai: This marks your first year at the March for Life. Following the Dobbs ruling, there have been significant shifts in the pro-life movement as the issue is now managed at the state level. What are your expectations from the Trump administration regarding federal policies this year?

Jennie Bradley Lichter: We were pleased to see some promising pro-life policies announced recently by the president and his team. These include initiatives I had previously worked on during my time as a policy official in his first term. I am thrilled to see actions such as halting the use of aborted fetal tissue in scientific research and investigating Planned Parenthood’s alleged misuse of COVID relief funds through the Small Business Administration. Additionally, they are expanding the Mexico City policy, which we greatly appreciate along with other pro-life efforts made over the past year.

However, there remains much work ahead. We continue to urge this administration to thoroughly examine Mifepristone and its potential risks to American women. We look forward to seeing results from that study and anticipate that this administration will take steps to restrict access to Mifepristone.

Sean Salai: The FDA under the Trump administration has committed to reviewing Mifepristone’s side effects, which we are eagerly awaiting. They emphasize that producing these comprehensive scientific reviews requires time.
