Clarification on Epstein Files
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche addressed the ongoing speculation regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein’s case files, particularly those related to former President Donald Trump.
During an appearance on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” Mr. Blanche stated, “There is nothing that he has to hide in the Epstein files. There never was.” He emphasized that attempts by some Democrats to link Trump to Epstein have repeatedly failed.
Mr. Blanche confirmed that a photograph featuring Trump with women was removed from the initial release of Epstein documents due to concerns raised by a victims’ rights group. He clarified, “It has nothing to do with President Trump.”
The Deputy Attorney General described the removal as part of a careful review process mandated by law, aimed at protecting victims’ identities. He noted, “We’re going through a very methodical process with hundreds of lawyers looking at every single document.”
Mr. Blanche assured that any mention of Trump in relation to Epstein would be released unless legally required redactions are necessary. He stated, “Mr. Trump had nothing to do with the horrific crimes that Mr. Epstein committed.”
The Deputy Attorney General refrained from commenting on whether former President Bill Clinton is under investigation but acknowledged ongoing inquiries into individuals associated with Epstein.
