Wall Street concluded the week on an uneven note, with declining technology stocks and uncertainty surrounding a potential rate cut from the Federal Reserve impacting investor sentiment.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 200 points by midday Friday, following its worst single-day performance in over a month.
On Thursday, the Dow fell by 800 points, alongside significant declines in other indexes. However, both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq managed to recover into positive territory by Friday.
There are increasing worries that major players in the artificial intelligence sector, which had previously bolstered Wall Street’s performance, may be overvalued and represent a bubble that is due for correction.
Despite these concerns, key stocks such as Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices saw gains by noon on Friday.
