Free Theater Tickets for Residents
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has teamed up with a local theater festival to provide complimentary tickets to city residents.
The Under the Radar theater festival, which runs from this past Wednesday until January 25, features performances of 30 different shows across 25 venues in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.
As part of the “Under the Radar for All” initiative, festival organizers are offering 1,500 free tickets to 12 of the featured performances.
This past Friday, Mayor Mamdani distributed some of these free tickets to residents and college students in Flatbush, Brooklyn, according to his office.
The ticket giveaway occurred near Brooklyn College, which is affiliated with the City University of New York system.
“The arts are too often considered a luxury for the wealthy or a treat for tourists rather than a form of expression that every New Yorker deserves. I am thankful for Under the Radar’s generosity in sharing live theater experiences throughout the city,” said Mayor Mamdani.
The Under the Radar festival expressed its support for Mayor Mamdani’s vision of an affordable New York City. They stated their pride in offering free tickets to many performances as part of their commitment to community engagement.
The festival organizers have not disclosed which specific shows will be included in this ticket giveaway.
