Wife’s Statement on Allegations
The wife of Travis Turner, a missing high school football coach, has expressed her lack of knowledge regarding the serious allegations against him, which include soliciting a minor and possessing child pornography.
Virginia State Police reported that they visited Mr. Turner’s home in Appalachia last Thursday but found him absent. On Monday, they issued ten warrants for his arrest—five related to soliciting a minor and five for child pornography possession.
Leslie Turner, speaking to the media, stated, “I don’t know anything. I’m sorry,” when asked about the solicitation charges. She firmly denied the child pornography allegations, asserting that her husband is a devoted father and husband who deserves to return home.
The Virginia State Police are utilizing search dogs, drones, and rescue teams in their efforts to locate Mr. Turner, who is currently considered a fugitive.
An attorney representing the Turner family emphasized their hope for his safe return and urged that any accusations be handled through legal channels rather than speculation or rumors.
Wise County Public Schools acknowledged the situation and confirmed that law enforcement has filed charges against an employee who remains on administrative leave and is prohibited from contacting students or being on school property during this investigation.
This incident comes just before Mr. Turner’s undefeated team was set to compete in a regional semifinal game against Graham High School on Saturday. Union High School had previously secured a victory over Big Stone Gap with a score of 12-0.
A player from Union High remarked on their preparedness for the upcoming match despite the circumstances surrounding their coach’s disappearance.
