Trump’s Reaction to the Alleged Attack

Palm Beach, Florida — President Trump stated on Monday that he received a call from Russian President Vladimir Putin early in the morning, informing him about a Ukrainian drone attack that allegedly targeted one of Putin’s residences.

While standing next to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate, Trump voiced his disapproval regarding the reported incident. “I don’t like it. It’s not good,” he remarked, although he acknowledged that it was “possible” the claim could be false and that the attack might not have occurred. He quickly added that Putin confirmed to him that it did take place.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also commented on the situation, stating that a Ukrainian drone strike targeted one of Putin’s residences. However, Kyiv has dismissed this assertion as “a complete fabrication.”

Lavrov indicated that this incident would lead to a reassessment of Russia’s negotiating stance in ongoing peace discussions aimed at resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He mentioned there were no damages or casualties from the alleged strike but noted that Russian military forces had identified targets for potential retaliatory actions.

According to Lavrov, all 91 drones involved in the incident were intercepted by Russian defense systems.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted Russia’s claims as falsehoods and pointed out that Moscow had provided no evidence to support its allegations. He accused Russia of fabricating this incident to obstruct peace negotiations.

Zelenskyy expressed concern over Russia’s tactics, stating, “Russia is at it again, using dangerous statements to undermine all achievements of our shared diplomatic efforts with President Trump’s team. We keep working together to bring peace closer.” He emphasized the need for accurate information from global intelligence agencies amidst these claims.

The alleged drone attack occurred just one day after Zelenskyy met with Trump for three hours at Mar-a-Lago. The two leaders highlighted their proximity to reaching a peace agreement while acknowledging several challenges ahead, which Trump described as “one or two thorny issues.”
