Potential Impeachment of DOJ Officials

Representative Ro Khanna has indicated that articles of impeachment could be pursued against Attorney General Pam Bondi due to the Department of Justice’s failure to fully disclose the Epstein files, as mandated by a law signed by President Trump.

In a post on X, Khanna, a Democrat from California, criticized the release of hundreds of thousands of pages, stating they did not meet the legal requirements established by him and Representative Thomas Massie, a Republican from Kentucky.

During an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Khanna revealed that he and Massie are in the process of drafting articles of impeachment and considering inherent contempt charges. However, they have yet to decide whether to proceed with these actions.

The two lawmakers co-sponsored the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was signed into law by Trump last month.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced that “several hundred thousand documents” were expected to be released by midnight Friday. Additional files will follow in the coming weeks.

Many documents released were heavily redacted. Democrats have expressed frustration that Trump is seldom mentioned and appears in no new photographs.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has already made thousands of documents and photos public over the past year.

Kahanna urged Bondi to consider the outrage from MAGA supporters and the disappointment among survivors, hoping she would decide within two weeks to begin releasing more documents.

Kahanna reiterated on CNN that articles of impeachment could target any Justice Department official who obstructs justice. Host John King noted that Blanche stated he had not been instructed by Trump to omit his name from the released files.

Kahanna expressed concern about Blanche’s handling of document releases, stating it violates both the spirit and letter of the law while disrespecting survivors. He emphasized that this issue has been underestimated for six months and called for immediate release of all relevant files.
