President Trump’s New Project
President Trump has announced his intention to renovate the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
On Wednesday, he shared a video on Truth Social showcasing scenes of the Reflecting Pool being cleaned, accompanied by Andrea Bocelli’s song “Time to Say Goodbye.”
The video concludes with the message, “Make D.C. Beautiful Again.” Trump remarked, “This is the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool before Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and I fix it. Study it hard because you won’t be seeing this Biden filth and incompetence much longer!”
The Reflecting Pool was completed in 1923 and underwent significant renovations from 2010 to 2012. It holds nearly 7 million gallons of water.
Trump has been focused on enhancing the aesthetics of the nation’s capital. Earlier this year, he established a task force aimed at beautifying Washington, D.C., which includes restoring federal buildings, monuments, parks, and roadways. The National Park Service has also been instructed to clear homeless encampments throughout the city.
Some National Guard troops stationed in D.C. have been tasked with beautification efforts such as trash collection and landscaping maintenance.
In addition to these efforts, Trump has made modifications to the White House itself, including paving over grass in the Rose Garden and adding outdoor furniture. The East Wing is undergoing demolition for a new ballroom, while gold appliques have been introduced in the Oval Office.
