Biden declares the Democratic Party is back

Former President Joe Biden addressed Democrats in Nebraska, asserting that the party is rejuvenated following recent electoral victories across the nation.

Speaking at the Nebraska Democratic Party’s “Ben Nelson Gala” on Friday, Biden praised his party while criticizing President Trump.

“The Democratic Party is back. That’s not hyperbole,” Biden stated. “Did you see the election results?”

Two Democratic candidates secured gubernatorial wins on Tuesday: Abigail Spanberger in Virginia and Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey. Additionally, Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic socialist, triumphed in New York City’s mayoral race.

“Look, the American people are sending a message. A message to Trump and his crowd,” Biden emphasized. “You work for us, Mr. President. We don’t work for you.”

He expressed his frustration directly: “I mean this sincerely. I’m angry. You work for us.”

Biden asserted that there are no kings in democracies and criticized Trump for actions that he believes embarrass the nation.

Biden ran against Trump during the 2024 election cycle but withdrew from the race. Former Vice President Kamala Harris took his place on the Democratic ticket but ultimately lost.

The former president accused Trump of exacerbating hunger among Americans due to halted funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program amid a government shutdown and condemned extravagant spending like a new ballroom at the White House and a themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago.

“When I left the presidency, I knew President Trump was going to take a wrecking ball to the country,” Biden remarked. “But I have to admit I didn’t know it was going to be an actual wrecking ball.” He pointed out changes made to the East Wing of the White House as symbolic of Trump’s presidency.

Biden continued: “Trump has taken a wrecking ball not only to the people’s house but also to our Constitution, rule of law, and very democracy.”
